Milla Fester from the Green Party is bisexual - and makes a strong statement

Milla Fester is known, among other things, for being the youngest in the German Bundestag. Now she has dared to take a courageous step. She recently came out as bisexual. Her followers on social networks celebrated her for a very special posting, among other things.

Fester has been a member of the Bundestag since 2021. However, she is not the only openly queer politician. Ricarda Lang, also from the Green Party and even party leader here, has also come out in the past.

The two show: Queerness exists in the most diverse areas of life - including politics.

A coming out with the help of a meaningful posting

With the sentence "IT'S NOT A PHASE - IT'S AN IDENTITY" Milla Fester might have hit the bull's eye with many people. After all, many queers are confronted with one of the most famous sentences "It's just a phase!". Fester shows that bisexuality is a part of her personality.

She complained in the post that even today she often has to justify herself as a bisexual woman. However, no one should have the feeling that they have to explain themselves. Among other things, she also addresses the fact that many people would regard bisexuality as a kind of indecisiveness. Freely after the slogan "Actually I do not know so exactly, what I want...". However, this is probably one of the most classic prejudices of all. For bisexuality is - as Fester puts it - a "separate sexual identity".

The timing of the statement, by the way, was not random. Rather, it took place just in time for Bisexuality Day. And that Fester can be sure of the support of her own party should have become clear to everyone at the latest when the state association left several hearts under her outing.

However, it was no secret that Fester is queer. She had already come out in the summer of 2022. However, the latest posting was an important "dot on the i". In the meantime, it has been commented on by numerous users. Most of the reactions are positive.

Who is Milla Fester?

Milla Fester has been fighting for more equal rights for queers for a long time. She is originally from Hildesheim, but has been living in Hamburg for a few years.

In September 2021, she was elected to third place on the state list of the Hamburg Greens. In her position, she advocates for more justice, among other things, and is also celebrated by younger people interested in politics in particular.

She is one of the people who prove that of course politicians can also be queer. Unfortunately, this is a fact that seems to get lost in everyday life all too often.

The good news, however, is also that queer issues generally seem to be playing an increasingly important role in current politics. One area that is currently being discussed more than ever is the Transsexual Act (TSG for short), in connection with which those affected have to undergo - sometimes embarrassing - questioning in order to have the gender entry on their identity card changed. A lot could still happen here in the coming months and years.

In addition, Sven Lehmann was appointed the first Queer Representative of the German Bundestag. He is to ensure that in the future more consideration is given to the concerns of queers.
