The parking lot at the Regenstein Fortress

Regenstein Fortress
The fortress Regenstein was already built in the 12th century. The special thing about this castle is that it was not built stone on stone like any other castle, but that they have beaten out of a massive sandstone mountain. For this purpose, they used the few existing caves and enlarged them until they had dozens of rooms. Unfortunately, today only a small part of this wonderful art is still present, because a large part has not withstood the weather of more than 850 years. Nevertheless, you can still see countless antiques from the Middle Ages in the open-air museum. In addition, at Easter, Whitsun and in July, Viking festivals or knights' spectacles worth seeing take place here.

But even more popular than the Regenstein fortress itself is the parking lot at the foot of the 290 meter high mountain. Because here, as soon as the open-air museum has closed, countless gay and bisexual men from the region of Blankenburg (Harz) meet. Mostly you meet here in the early evening around 7 pm but for that until deep into the night. The most popular days are of course on weekends where a time no longer plays a role. Because then the gays and straights get out their epees for fencing.

Also very popular is the Mülheimer Stadtgarten near Cologne.
