There's no question about it: Jeopardy is one of the best-known quiz shows around. American Amy Schneider has now set a very special record. She managed to win a total of 40 shows and collected more than a million dollars. Now, however, her winning streak is over.

Queer record on Jeopardy

Amy Schneider was on Jeopardy for more than two months

This is a very special record. The principle behind Jeopardy is quickly explained: The winner is allowed to come back again and again and defend his or her title. That's what happened to Amy Schneider. She won and won and thus managed to appear on the show as a contestant for two months.

Now, however, she has been replaced by Rhone Talsma, also queer. However, the disappointment should be limited. With a winning sum of the equivalent of 1.2 million euros, leaving is certainly not difficult.

Schneider was able to set two records for herself through her participation in Jeopardy. She is not only the most successful female contestant, but also the most successful trans contestant who has ever taken part in Jeopardy. There are only three male contestants ahead of her who have managed to participate even longer or win even more money.

For Amy Schneider a dream of her heart seems to have come true

Schneider stressed that it had been an honor for her to be on Jeopardy. She had been watching the show since she was a child and it was difficult for her to put her feelings into words now after all the shows.

And despite the fact that the queer contestant's winning streak has now been interrupted, she can already look forward to the next milestone in her very personal Jeopardy career. Because in just a few months, the "Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions" is coming up in a few months. Only the best male and female contestants from the previous season will take part.

Based on her impressive performance, she certainly doesn't have to hide here either.

Not everyone is enthusiastic about Amy Schneider

A look at the social networks showed again and again that some viewers apparently had a problem with Amy Schneider being able to celebrate such successes in her episodes. Time and again, she had to defend herself against hate comments. At the same time, however, she used her now-gained notoriety to fight for more tolerance and equal rights for queers. There are certainly few Jeopardy contestants who have managed to build up such a large fan base within a short time.

What is Jeopardy actually about?

The principle behind Jeopardy is quickly explained: It's all about a - literally - wall of answers. Answers? Yes, exactly. Because: Jeopardy works a little differently than classic quiz shows. The task of the candidates is to ask the right questions in response to answers that are already available. Amy Schneider seems to have succeeded in doing just that in an impressive way.

The general concept of the show is very successful and has been implemented in Germany, including with Frank Elstner.
