Yoncé Banks celebrates her victory on Die Alm

Yoncé Banks seems to have a knack for challenges. The drag queen has not only managed to win the show Queen of Drags in 2019, but also Die Alm. She has officially become the "Almkönigin" and can now look forward to more than 40,000 euros and a golden cowbell.

In this case, "more than" means exactly 40,500 euros. But why such a "crooked sum"? Anyone who has followed Die Alm knows that there have been rule violations here and there (as is usual in many reality TV shows). These were punished by repeatedly reducing the jackpot for the final.

By way of comparison: if it hadn't been for the aforementioned rule violations, Yoncé Banks would have received a round 50,000 euros for her victory. Either way, she was and is successful. And that's exactly what she celebrates on Instagram, among other places.

What is Die Alm about?

Die Alm is one of those reality TV shows that are not produced regularly, but only sporadically. This is perhaps exactly why the format is so celebrated among "trashies". Even before the first episode of the third season aired, the news that it was being produced again made big waves.

The show is easily explained - because: here the name says it all! In fact, Die Alm is all about a hut in the mountains, where several people who enjoy a certain notoriety move in.

However, no one in search of luxury will find it here. Instead, hotel and glamorous life is exchanged for simple circumstances. So that the whole thing really doesn't get boring, the daily routine is supplemented by games of various kinds.

The final - Yoncé Banks wins

In the last episode of Die Alm, a total of four contestants were left. They first had to prove their skills in a kind of "Olympics". Among other things, they had to traverse a course and collect stuffed animals with the help of a leaf blower.

At the end of the first round, Vivian Schmitt and Siria Campanozzi were eliminated. Now it was clear: Yoncé and Magdalena Brzeska had to settle the battle for the title of "Almkönigin" between themselves. In the end, everything was called for: agility, fitness, knowledge and spontaneity.

Here, Yoncé managed to leave Magdalena behind - despite some difficulties. Anyone who has followed the entire season will certainly rate the win as "quite fair". After all, according to the statistics, she also emerged as the winner in the majority of the remaining games.

Yoncé lets herself be celebrated on Instagram

Meanwhile, Yoncé Banks has published several posts on Instagram celebrating her victory on Die Alm.

As usual humorous she remarks "Proudly I may call myself beside my title of the first "Queen of Drags" also "Almkönigin"... whereas I think "Alm-Göttin" is better... haha!".

In conclusion, however, she very humbly thanks the entire production, her roommates and her friends.

Whether or when there will be a new season of Die Alm is currently still up in the air. According to media reports, the audience figures were not really convincing. Perhaps a tweet from the station ProSieben gives a little hint here? Recently, "After #DieAlm2021 is before #DieAlm2031" was posted.

To be fair, however, it should also be mentioned that the current trash TV competition is or was strong. Among others, Kampf der Realitystars and Die Bachelorette are currently being broadcast. Perhaps the inclined trash TV viewer just wants to focus on one format? Yoncé Banks' participation definitely didn't hurt her, though. It remains to be seen which projects the drag queen will be involved in in the future.
