#lovewins plans more than 100 blessing services for queers, divorcees,... For everyone!

Various blessing celebrations are to take place around May 10. In their context, homosexuals, divorcees and all people who want to can be blessed. In this way, those involved would like to make a statement against intolerance and for more diversity.

Especially interesting: the Vatican should be less enthusiastic about this. Only recently he came into the headlines, because the refused to give the blessing to homosexual couples.

However, the fact that it can also be possible to stand up to the authorities in the church every now and then is proven by those responsible for the #liebegewinnt campaign. In the period around May 10, they celebrate various blessing ceremonies that are directed at all people... Regardless of whom they love.

Among other things, this is to emphasize that versatility also has a place in the Catholic Church.

#lovewins plans blessing celebrations

What's behind #lovewins?

#liebegewinnt is an association of a total of ten Catholic parishes. Among others, theologians, priests and many church volunteers are involved.

Music fans may also know "Liebe gewinnt" as a song by the band Brings. With its help, the musicians spoke out against discrimination in their very own way.

The blessing celebrations are intended to address all people who love. It does not matter whether same-sex or not: no one should be excluded. Accordingly, heterosexual couples can of course also be blessed as part of the action.

Among other things, those responsible are concerned with making queers even more visible in the faith community - including whether or not they have a history of divorce.

How to participate in the celebrations?

If you want to be blessed, the first step is to check the #liebegewinnt homepage to see where a blessing service is taking place nearby. Since more than 100 events can already be called up, it is highly probable that, as a rule, no long journeys will be necessary.

Here, among others, the queers in larger cities can benefit. There the choice is particularly large to meet on blessing celebrations.

The whole thing will then be a kind of "potpourri" of classical church service (of course under Corona conditions) and online event. Further information is of course also available on the social networks.

Many people are enthusiastic

If you think back a little, you can certainly remember how disappointed many people were when the Catholic Church explicitly spoke out against the blessing of homosexual couples a few weeks ago.

And also this time many representatives are anything but enthusiastic. Among other things, they point out that it does not make sense, especially now, when there is generally no unanimous opinion on same-sex love in the Catholic Church, to bless arbitrarily and thus set such a sign.

However, the "sheeple" are little bothered by the criticism. On the contrary! Many people - regardless of their sexual orientation - welcome the fact that homosexuals and divorcees now also have the opportunity to get their blessing - whether online or on site.

Anyone who takes a little time to browse the social networks quickly realizes that society is changing more and more, especially with regard to the combination of "faith" and "love. It almost seems as if many people were just waiting to be able to openly admit their faith - and to do so completely independently of the gender they love.
