Fans of the British royals should be pleased: Kate and William have once again shown why they are so popular within the LGBTQIA+ community. They published an Instagram post in which they support the scene and thank a relevant organization for its work.
And even if many people today may be of the opinion that the British monarchy may be a little "dusty", the said post may have somewhat proven the opposite. Kate and William proved once again that it is perhaps not too difficult to be close to the people even as future king and queen.
Kate and William: A closer look at the Instagram post
In this day and age, social media has become part and parcel of life at Buckingham Palace. Accordingly, it's not unusual for Kate and William to speak out time and again. However, the most recent post may have particularly pleased the community. The two referred to Pride Month and, among other things, to the work of an organization called "Shout.
The two royals pointed out that said organization had supported more than 150,000 SMS, writers and writers from the community in the UK in 2021. In addition, Kate and William informed in their post that the organization is the contact person for the community and its problems. Here, they said, someone is always there - around the clock.
Among other things, the picture attached to the post ensured that it would not be lost in any timeline. It showed a heart in rainbow flag design, which referred to the organization "Sout".
What is actually behind "Shout"?
The organization Shout should be familiar to queers in Great Britain. It is a hotline that can be reached by text message. It is mainly used by people who suffer from psychological problems, for example because of their sexual orientation.
After all, it's not just younger queers who often have trouble opening up to their family or friends. Anyone and everyone who has something on their mind can turn to Shout and get their grievances off their chest - literally.
Instagram loves Kate and William
Granted: Kate and William are very popular anyway. But: This post is one of the publications that managed to go through the roof within a short time. The number of positive comments is growing continuously and many members of the community are happy that the two will eventually be at the head of the monarchy.
The posting probably also drew the attention of many people who did not yet know or use Shout to the organization's services. After all, Kate and William are followed by several million people on social networks. And even though the pictures of the royal offspring, which are often photographed and then posted by Kate herself, are of course also cute, the scene in Great Britain in particular should be pleased that the prospects of a particularly tolerant and cosmopolitan royal couple are not bad.
William and the LGBTQIA+ Community
Even if the topic is not addressed too often by the English royal family or Prince William, it is no secret that the eldest son of Prince Charles is open and benevolent towards the LGBTQIA+ community. Among other things, he has already campaigned in the past for the fight against homophobia.
