British actress Emma Corrin comes out as non-binary

Emma Corrin is known to many for her role as Princess Diana in the successful streaming series "The Crown. While Emma embodies the "princess of hearts" (and thus also a kind of epitome of femininity) in front of the camera, the 25-year-old no longer wants to have anything to do with the classic gender distribution.

Recently, like some of her colleagues before her, she made it known that she no longer wanted to be addressed with the pronoun "they. In her private life, Emma prefers the gender-neutral pronoun "they".

On the social media platform Instagram, she made a clear statement in this regard. There she relied less on words, but instead posted a picture in which she ties off her breasts.

Photos of Emma Corrin with tied breasts divide the net community

On her Instagram profile, Emma Corrin recently posted a series of photos showing her with breast binders.

The comment: "Some time before I bought my first chest binder, fooling around with David-Simon Dayan. We were using boxing bandages. Thank you for recording that with me, very intimate, very new, very cool. [...] I embrace it!" This is followed by a little safety advice in the form of "Bind safely, find what works for you - I use binders from [brand name]".

The comments under the picture show that the actress's fans are a little ambivalent here. Many celebrate the young actress for her courage and self-confidence to finally show herself the way she feels most comfortable - albeit without female breasts. In addition to many hearts and expressions of love, there are - as always - also opponents of the outing in the comments.

For example, one user finds it inappropriate to share such content with teenagers and young people. Another commenter calls outings non-binary a fad and that people shouldn't deface themselves because of such "trends." Meanwhile, the streaming provider under which "The Crown" runs posted three red hearts.

Many comments also show how many people see Corrin as a kind of "inspiration" thanks to this action. "You have no idea how much this means to a lot of people." - is just one of many posts that should certainly put a smile on the face of the actress.

Emma Corrin outed herself as queer back in the spring

Coming out as a non-binary person is not the first outing Emma Corrin has had.

Back in April of this year, she outed herself as queer and declared that she sees herself as neither straight nor cisgender.

The additional outing as non-binary is yet another additional statement that clearly opposes societal gender constructs.

In doing so, she shows that she does not want to identify with the norms of how a man and how a woman - supposedly - have to behave.

Emma Corrin is not the only non-binary star

Anyone who follows the media and is often on the go in social networks knows that Emma Corrin is currently far from the only person who is dealing with gender roles and clearly takes a stand here.

Among others, stars such as Demi Lovato, Lachlan Watson, Angel Haze and Tom Phelan, for example, have also confessed to being non-binary in the recent past.

However different the respective personalities may be - all the outings had one thing in common: the reactions of the fans were mixed, but generally largely positive.

Although more and more people in the public eye are currently coming out as non-binary, it would certainly be wrong to speak "only" of a trend here. Rather, the likelihood is that it only took a few "outing role models" to then follow suit themselves. True to the motto "I'm okay - just the way I am!"many stars are also likely to inspire numerous followers to take this important step.

By the way, the CSD in Tbilisi was canceled due to severe riots.
