The Bad Hersfeld Abbey Ruins are very centrally located and can be reached by car, on foot and by bus. It is one of the largest basilicas in the Alps and is today the most popular and largest Romanesque church ruin in the whole world. In addition, in earlier years there were many other collegiate churches and monastic buildings, but most of them were destroyed in the war in 1761. Today, however, countless tourists gather here to admire these wonderful ruins. It is also a great place to go for a walk.
