Three queers move into the Summer House of the Stars 2021

Summer is approaching with great strides. The inclined trash TV fan knows that now not only higher temperatures are pending, but also the summer house of the stars is filmed. The format is now entering its sixth round.

A look at the list of participants reveals that this time it will be a little queerer than in previous years. That's because a total of three members of the community are taking part.

In order to take home the victory, however, they do not have to convince the audience, but rather try not to fall too far in the favor of the competitors. The nominations at the end of each episode determine who is eliminated.

The Summer House of the Stars 2021

Who will be in the Summer House of the Stars 2021?

Admittedly: Most of the participants in this year's season are really only known to die-hard trash TV fans. However, they should already be delighted with the cast. Among others, Mola Adebisi and Elisabeth Marie Hofbauer are taking part.

However, with Benjamin Ryan Melzer (transgender model), Lars Steinhöfel ("Unter Uns") and Dominik Schmitt, three queers are also competing for the prize money of 50,000 euros! This is a small premiere. Because: although the format - as already mentioned - is now entering its sixth season, no homosexual couple has ever been on the show before.

In the context of a previous season, there were always rumors about a participation of Nicolas Puschmann. In the end, however, this did not come about - perhaps also because their relationship suffered over a period of time under the pressure of the media and the public?

What is "Das Sommerhaus der Stars" about?

On "Das Sommerhaus der Stars," eight couples compete against each other. In the context of games, they have the opportunity to secure themselves as winners and, ideally, can accordingly not be nominated for the move-out on the same day.

If the save is unsuccessful, it essentially depends on the favor of the other players who is put on the hit list.

This description alone shows that there is definitely conflict potential hidden in principle around "Das Sommerhaus der Stars". Some even describe the format as a "jinx" when it comes to being with one's partner for as long as possible. In the past, there were many participants who broke up shortly after taking part.

However, the broadcaster or the production company seems to stick to the concept this time as well. However, due to the ongoing Corona pandemic, this time the production will not take place abroad, but in Bocholt.

Bullying or discussion? Opinions differ

In connection with productions such as the Summer House of Stars, but also with Celebs Under Palms, there have been repeated allegations of bullying in the past. As a rule, it didn't take long for a couple to be sidelined a little (or a little more) by the other couples and find themselves "alone in the open".

That's why the relevant broadcasts come in for criticism time and again. The camps are divided. While some are amused by the verbal slips and the like, others are of the opinion that bullying and exclusion are being shown "at prime time" on TV.

Sat1 recently pulled the ripcord here and declared that there would be no new season of "Promis unter Palmen. The scandal surrounding Désirée Nick and Claudia Obert in the first season was certainly a decisive factor, as were the homophobic comments made by Prince Marcus von Anhalt.

One thing is certain: everything currently looks as if there is nothing standing in the way of the eighth round of "Das Sommerhaus der Stars. However, there is no concrete broadcast date yet. The finale will show how far Ryan Melzer, Lars Steinhöfel and Dominik Schmitt will make it.
