Who is Nikkie de Jager anyway?

Nikkie de Jager is one of the best-known queer vloggers around. She started her YouTube career about 13 years ago. Her main content included makeup tips and beauty videos. She managed to build up a larger fan base comparatively quickly - among other things because she increasingly managed to gain a foothold in the world of the "rich and beautiful".

Over time, she made up many celebrities, including even Lady Gaga. Her style? A mix of elegance and glamour. Neither too plain, nor too flashy, she always managed to assert her recognition value while appearing authentic and likeable.

Her fans love her. Among other things, because she has managed to stand by herself and send a large portion of "positivity" into the world - and not only as a presenter of the ESC.

Nikkie de Jager's outing

It wasn't too long ago that Nikkie de Jager came out as trans. Back in 2020, she explained that she had always known that she was actually a girl. Her decision to stand by herself has not hurt her in any way. On the contrary!

By now, at the latest, her fan base within the queer community was also growing strongly. Her followers praised her for her courage, and that's exactly what seemed to ultimately inspire de Jager further. One of the highlights of her career so far has been hosting the ESC. Here, she charmed the world with her distinctive style while sending an important message. In a later interview, she explained, mutatis mutandis, that she hoped she had also made the community proud with her moderation.

Excitingly, this year's winner was also a band that has now also made a name for itself within the LGBTQI+ scene: Måneskin. The group competed for Italy with a mix of metal and rock and got off to an unparalleled start.

Due to Nikkie's positive charisma and because of her healthy self-confidence, however, it is always forgotten that it was not originally her decision to tell the world about her queerness. Because: she was blackmailed. She was threatened to make her story about hormone therapy and gender reassignment public. So she took the "flight forward" and sent a "F*** you" to her haters.

Nikkie de Jager - an impressive success story

Nikkie de Jager has achieved what many vloggers surely wish for. She worked hard on her channel, remained true to herself and also made the leap to TV. She has now even received an award for this.

An end to this - in the truest sense of the word - colorful career is not in sight. On the contrary! Especially through the job as a presenter at the ESC, de Jager should have become known to an even larger audience. And who knows? Perhaps she has also recommended herself "quite incidentally" for other engagements of this kind?
