The Corona pandemic has, among other things, also ensured that cutbacks had to be made in terms of CSD events throughout Germany. The responsible persons in Munich look however also straight quite optimistically into the future. They concern themselves up-to-date already with the planning for the CSD in the coming year. And this is to become large again.

Munich plans CSD for 2022

Dates and details of the CSD Munich 2022

In advance: how exuberant the CSD in Munich can be celebrated next year, is of course dependent on the then current pandemic situation. At present, however, those responsible assume that the event, which has been scheduled for the period between July 02 and 17, 2022, can take place.

Accordingly, queers in the Bavarian capital can then celebrate and show visibility on three weekends.

Especially on 16 and 17 July it will be particularly colorful. Because: here, among other things, the parade and the stage program will take place. Based on this plan, it is planned to equalize the entire CSD a little.

After all, the Corona time has also brought some positive things with it... Among other things, the realization that, for example, bicycle demonstrations are also sometimes very well received. In Munich, these should also take place in 2022 and thus be further integrated into the CSD. Furthermore, it is planned to continue - parallel to the classic CSD - to present a lot of content online. In this way, it may be possible to reach even more people.

That was the CSD 2021

Even though the CSD 2021 in Munich took place under Corona conditions and was accordingly somewhat smaller and "different", this does not mean that it was not rich in statements. Among other things, demonstrations against the anti-LGBTQ laws in Hungary were on the program this year.

In total, more than 60 groups and various associations walked through the streets of Munich to show their presence. At various booths, people had the opportunity to get more information. Certainly because the European Football Championship was not too long ago, the message was very emotionally charged.

(As a reminder, under an amendment to the law, queer people in Hungary are discriminated against in that their existence is not to be discussed in front of children in schools and in the vicinity of schools. Accordingly, rainbow families do not appear in school textbooks or the like).

Munich plans CSD for 2022

CSDs in the past plus CSD today = CSD 2022?

If everything works out, this formula should work. Because: the responsible persons of the CSDs from then and now would like to be inspired by this and last year and incorporate what has worked into the coming events. Accordingly, the upcoming Prides could become a little more diverse than the old ones.

Nevertheless, of course, also remains to be seen how the Corona pandemic will affect people and their willingness to stay in larger groups in the future. Possibly the expanded online offer around the CSD will then also ensure that more interested people will inform themselves about streams. Either way, anyone who takes a look at the homepage of the CSD in Munich and the pages of other events of this kind will see that there is certainly no lack of heart and soul.

And who knows? Perhaps many other cities will also take an example from those responsible in Munich, plan with foresight and optimism, and thus, among other things, set an example that the fight for more tolerance and equal rights will continue even (and especially) in difficult times.
