More LGBTQ for the TV landscape - RTL presents Princess Charming

Irina Schlauch is the first Princess Charming
Dating shows continue to enjoy particular popularity. After two seasons of "Prince Charming", it's now also the turn of the women.

Irina Schlauch, like Nicolas Puschmann, wants to find her true love on TV. Like its male counterpart, the new dating show is likely to appeal not only to the LGBTQ community. After all, the Gay Bachelor also proved in the past that love with all its facets can also lure straight people in front of the screen.

One thing is certain: with Princess Charming, the TV landscape will once again become more colorful. RTL has now provided the first glimpses.

Who is Irina Schlauch?

Irina Schlauch seems likeable. She is 30 years old, works as a lawyer in Cologne and is looking for her dream woman. In the RTL interview, she reveals that character, self-confidence and humor are important to her, among other things.

Her coming out experience was largely uncomplicated, about seven years ago. Her upbringing had been tolerant. Therefore, she knew that her coming out would be received positively. The relationship with the family is good. Therefore, it would definitely also be an advantage if Irina's chosen one would get along well with her parents and her twin sister.

Otherwise, the upcoming Princess Charming is active in sports. Among other things, she likes snowboarding and surfing.

After Irina had already watched the first season of Prince Charming, it was clear to her that she too wanted to take her chance.

How important is another LGBTQ dating show?

Irina also has a clear opinion on this in the RTL interview. She is happy that lesbian women can show themselves as part of the LGBTQ community.

For her, it is natural to love a woman as a woman. But that is precisely what is not "normal" for many people. Prince Charming has served as a good pioneer here. And the more often diversity would play a role on TV, the more it would be emphasized that it is quite legitimate for two women (or two men or two people with different orientations, the same gender, etc.) to love each other.

Among other things, Irina also wants to encourage people who currently still have difficulties in standing by themselves to live out their respective orientation.

Nicolas Puschmann has proven that queer dating shows work

At the latest since Prince Charming Nicolas, who is currently sweeping the Let's Dance floor, it is clear that queer dating shows can work not only in terms of ratings, but also in terms of the love factor.

Even though Lars and he recently took a little break from each other, they are currently happier than ever. A great proof that love, which is found in front of the TV cameras and under the eyes of the public, can also work.

Whether Irina will benefit just as much from her participation remains to be seen. The viewers are likely to follow their dates with excitement.

Princess Charming to be aired on TVNOW

The upcoming season of Princess Charming is a joint project between TVNOW and Seapoint. The show is something of a world first. Because: until now there has been no dating show of this kind, in which a woman goes in search of her dream woman.

According to RTL, the show will then be broadcast this spring. Unfortunately - at least what has leaked out so far - not on free TV at first, but on TVNOW. But who knows? Maybe the show will make it into the classic TV program after all?
