Lewis Hamilton supports Sebastian Vettel because of his support for the LGBTQ community: "Love always wins!"

The whole thing is somewhat reminiscent of the European Football Championship, during which topics such as LGBTQ, rainbow bandages, etc. were also discussed at length. And perhaps Sebastian Vettel would not have thought that his rainbow sneakers would make such big waves.

A look at current developments shows that the topic is far from over. Because: before the race for the Hungarian Grand Prix, Vettel went one step further and decided to wear a shirt in rainbow design. This featured the words "Same Love". Another sign of versatility and equality.

Hamilton is enthusiastic about the action

The statement was well received not only by the LGBTQ community, but also by Vettel's top competitor Hamilton, among others.

However, the fact that not everyone thinks a statement like this belongs on the Formula 1 track became apparent shortly afterwards. Because: Vettel was warned. Hamilton reacted to this as well, explaining in one of his Instagram Stories that there was no rule about what shirt colors could be worn and that there was nothing wrong with supporting the LGBTQ community.

Excitingly, he concluded by saying that he would wear the same shirt as his competitor at the next Grand Prix. "Exciting" among other things also because he now knows without a doubt that there is a high probability that he will also be warned.

Hungary, LGBTQ and sports - a sensitive issue

It seems to be very important to many people in charge that political statements and sports are not mixed at all. One unforgettable event in this context was UEFA's ban on the stadium in Munich being lit up in rainbow colors for the match against the Hungarian national team.

History seems to be repeating itself here - albeit in a different sport. Vettel, however, is quite persistent and, at the Hungarian Grand Prix in question, could not be persuaded to take off his top for the time when the Hungarian national anthem was being played.

And it was precisely for this decision that he was celebrated by many people on the web (including Lewis Hamilton). The message was well received, even if Vettel was subsequently disqualified because he had too little fuel in the tank and was therefore too light.

The next few races are therefore likely to be exciting in many respects - not least because the public's focus is now all the more on Vettel and Hamilton's reaction to the warning.

Not only Vettel was warned

Even though there is always talk about Vettel's warning in connection with the media coverage, it should not be forgotten that not only he, but also other drivers have made a statement pro LGBTQ.

Bottas, Sainz and Stroll also refused to take off the rainbow shirts. Therefore, all four (!) drivers were warned. It's important to note, however, that said warnings relate to off-track behavior.

Therefore, they are not relevant with regard to points and other sporting areas or consequences. Accordingly, those concerned are likely to remain relaxed here, while using their popularity to send a special message to the outside world.

Meanwhile, Hungary's Justice Minister Judit Varga has also commented on Facebook. According to her own statement, she regrets that the two drivers "joined international fake news producers.
