The Hamburg CSD was a complete success!

The city of Hamburg is not only known for its Reeperbahn, but also for its colorful and important CSDs. Also this year the CSD was celebrated in the Hanseatic city. An important topic was, among other things, the reference to the fact that many queers are still exposed to violence and homophobic attacks in this day and age.

According to current data, about 250,000 people have taken to the streets to stand up for the rights of the community.

The organizers have expressed themselves extremely positive. After a break of two years (because of Corona), people were allowed to stand up for the good cause in the "high north" again. Many people could see that they enjoyed the CSD in Hamburg to the fullest.
Also the weather played along.

The CSD Hamburg: A look at the details

According to the organizers, this year there were more groups than ever before at the CSD. In total, more than 80 of them are said to have drawn attention to the rights of queer people. The route of the parade stretched across the Hanseatic city, so it was hard not to notice that the weekend was under the rainbow flag.

Musical entertainment was provided by the trucks, on which DJs heated up the crowd with a wide variety of songs.

Speaking of "masses": Hamburg proved once again this year that - in addition to active participation on the sidelines or ON the streets - it is also possible to support the community in other ways. This year, for example, a particularly large number of people had decided to decorate their houses in "CSD style".

An important message: no one should be disadvantaged

The message of the Hamburg CSD was clear: It was demanded that no one should be disadvantaged because of their sexual orientation. However, many also emphasized in this context that the desire for more tolerance and equality must not only be current on days when the CSD is celebrated, but in general.

During the parade and in connection with the various rallies, it was also emphasized that much had already been achieved for the community in the past. Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement.

Unfortunately, even today, in the 21st century, it is still not possible to show yourself as a queer person everywhere on the street without worrying - and that is exactly what needs to change.

Many celebrities also represented at CSD Hamburg

Not only "normal people" and politicians were attracted to the roadside, to the rallies and onto the trucks. Among the masses of revelers, many faces from the boulevard could also be spotted. Among others, "nudie" Micaela Schäfer, Olivia Jones and "Promis unter Palmen" star Claudia Obert were among the party.

As in previous years, there was a lot going on in the St. Pauli district. Among other things, the closing party was celebrated here. Afterwards, the party crowd dispersed into the night. Until the early morning, people continued to laugh, communicate and flirt.

Hamburg has once again managed to live up to their good CSD reputation. And although the celebration was so exuberant and frenetic, the important message that comes with every CSD was not forgotten. Actually, the message - not only in Hamburg - could be summarized with the words "We have already achieved a lot, but there is also still a lot to do!

It is therefore all the more gratifying that many responsible politicians are now backing the community and leaving no doubt that a number of things still need to change for full equality.
