"Love is everything!": The four-part Rosenstolz documentary is available in the ARD media library

Four million records sold, a total of five number 1 albums, numerous tours and appearances on radio and television: The band Rosenstolz can look back on a long and successful history. But in 2011 it became very quiet around the Peter and Anna and quickly it became clear that there will be at least not too soon a reunion.
As part of the band's 30th anniversary, public television released a four-part miniseries and showed the documentary "Legends - Rosenstolz". Those who want to see the band "live" once again should also not miss the concert recorded in Leipzig in 2006.

The Rosenstolz documentary comes on ARD

Intimate insights into the band life of Rosenstolz

The miniseries "Rosenstolz - Liebe ist alles" (Rosenstolz - Love is Everything) gives intimate insights behind the scenes and should be a real "must see" not only for die-hard fans.
In the documentary, Anna R., Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer talk about various topics that moved the band back then (and to some extent still do) and the problems they had to face over time.
It's about love, friendship, fear of crashing and burnout. In addition, some never-before-published recordings are shown. Some of them give a completely new perspective on the former band life.
The whole thing becomes particularly touching when it comes to emotions and what the music of Rosenstolz can still trigger in people today. The band was able to break through the hardened fronts between straight and gay. Peter and Anna always conveyed the message that it is important to love yourself as you are. A message that still holds true today.
In addition to the band members, many close companions of the band also have their say. Among them are successful stars like Inga Humpe, Sarah Connor, Tim Renner and music producer Tom Müller.

Rosenstolz - The first joint interview after 12 years

Many Rosenstolz fans should be happy that there is finally a comprehensive documentary about their favorite band.
After all, there has often been the idea of producing a Rosenstolz documentary in the past. However, the band itself was always against it, claiming that everything about their history had been told. How did the change of mind come about?
Surely the fact that not "only" the story of the two is told, but that the four-part documentary also deals with the social development of the country, played an important role here. It was precisely this idea that finally convinced those involved.
Particularly exciting: As part of the documentary, Peter and Anna also give their first joint interview in 12 years... And for many children of the 1990s and 2000s, it might feel as if time has stood still. At least for a short time.

Broadcast dates

Since 08.12.2021 the Rosenstolz documentary is available in the ARD-Mediathek. If you still haven't had enough of Rosenstolz, you should also not miss the 90-minute documentary "Legends - Rosenstolz" on MDR on December 26, 2021 and watch the - already mentioned above - concert from Leipzig.
One thing is certain: even if Peter Plate and Anna R. are now pursuing separate artistic paths, they will always remain one of the most successful pop duos in the history of the country. And "by the way" they have not only influenced a whole generation, but also the LGBTQI+ scene. Many people should be grateful to them for this as well,
