Fashion Baron Alber Elbaz has died from Covid-19.

Fashion designer Alber Elbaz is dead. The 59-year-old died of covid-19. Among others, Alex Koo, his life partner, also mourns him. The two had been together for a long time. In Paris, in a hospital, Elbaz now closed his eyes.

In the fashion world, the queer designer was successful and well-known. His creations testified not only to stylistic confidence, but also, time and again, to a pleasant conspicuousness. Among other things, it was Elbaz's cheerful and at the same time pleasant manner that made him so popular. In a world that - according to many prejudices - is mainly about superficialities, the designer always provided a breath of fresh air and ensured that people could also believe in the "good in people" without any problems for the most part.

Alber Elbaz - a very special character

There's no question about it: Alber Elbaz seemed a little more approachable than many other people in the industry. He impressed with imaginative creations that left no doubt that a particularly clever, multi-layered character was at work here. But anyone who now thinks that Elbaz might have had a hard time staying grounded is also mistaken.

Rather, those around him were always enthusiastic about the fact that the successful designer usually seemed "like one of us."

A look at Elbaz's vita also shows that his life was marked by numerous creative stations. He worked not only for himself and his creativity, but also for numerous names that have repeatedly asserted their position in the industry itself. Many labels appreciated the special ideas of the artist and benefited from the corresponding cooperation.

Alber Elbaz and the "big brands

Elbaz never made a secret of his queerness. On the contrary! He stood by his homosexuality and didn't seem to be afraid that his love for a man could negatively affect his career. On the contrary!

The success he has enjoyed in the course of his life proved him right. Among other things, he worked not only for YSL, but also for Guy Laroche and many more.

His collections? A mixture of individuality, innovation and passion - and thus ideal for anyone who wanted to combine fashion with a certain degree of suitability for everyday use. The "good mood" effect did not fall by the wayside either. Elbaz understood how to combine fun and fashion and always set new accents.

One of his last works: Elbaz realizes himself in a special way

Elbaz stood like hardly any other designer for the very special, typical Parisian attitude to life. The passion for beauty, elegance and co. also showed in his collections. Only at the beginning of the year he presented his label "AZ Factory".

His goal was to make modernity, technology and fashion blur together even more. To do this, he experimented with materials that adapt in a special way to the movements and to the shape of the body, going a little further than garments that are "just comfortable".

Alber Elbaz also seemed to be happy in private. He was one of those people who are in the public eye and yet had a long relationship. Already since the mid-1990s he was with his boyfriend.

The designer's death now tears a hole in the industry in more ways than one. Not only because of his creativity, but also because of his special character, he will be missed.
