New music from MKSM: The queer artist has the next EP at the start
Many music fans from the LGBTQIA+ scene (and of course others) know MKSM. The queer artist brings out his second album with "Feelings of a Misfit". At the latest since his EP "High On Lows" he had managed to make a name for himself anyway. The community could already admire him at various live performances, for example at the Global Pride 2020. Here, several million people were watching at the time.
The new release shows that it will not be quiet around the young exceptional artist in the future. On the contrary!
This time the artist deals with his own past and expresses it in a musical way. At the same time, however, he does not hesitate to take a step forward.
Why is MKSM so popular in the scene?
If you take a closer look at MKSM's music, you will quickly realize that there is definitely no lack of emotion here.
The artist sings about what moves him and thus becomes an inspiration for others again and again. He questions his life and lets the listener know what moves him. One factor that seems to play a particularly important role for him is authenticity. And that's exactly what his new song "Feelings of a Misfit" conveys.
The EP in detail
The new EP starts directly with a somewhat more blunt song. This one is titled "One of my Demons" and deals, among other things, with the dark side that many people carry within themselves. MKSM sings about the fears that surround him and opens up to his listeners in an impressive way.
But a healthy portion of optimism must not be missing on the EP, of course. The song "Tracks in Minor", for example, is about the fact that it is possible to grow from one's fears after they have been overcome. And also the song "Original Self" should hit the mark with many queers. Here it's about being forced by the rest of society to conform, in order to then be able to go the way of liberation from these constraints. It becomes especially personal with the song "Shared Room". Here it is about the story of a pair of lovers. More precisely: About MKSM and his husband. Many of the titles of the new EP MKSM will certainly even perform live this year. The artist will perform on December 01, 2022, on World Aids Day, in Frankfurt am Main.
Who is MKSM?
Behind the stage name MKSM is Maksim. He was inspired to call himself MKSM by the failure of a light display on stage. He is both a singer and a violinist and is, among other things, also known to many people who regularly attend Prides. That's because he's had many live performances here - both nationally and internationally. MKSM has been gay for a long time and deals with the topic openly.
Born in Russia and raised in Ukraine, he has lived in Frankfurt and studied in London. An international artist who always expresses his connection to the scene - in a particularly emotional, musical way. For his single "Hold me down" he collaborated with drag queen Bambi Mercury, among others.
And in the future, the music world will certainly hear a lot more from the man who keeps raising the visibility of the scene in artistic terms.
