The Stotternheimer lake in Erfurt

Lake Stotternheim

Lake Stotternheim has an area of about 22 hectares and is located in the district of the same name, Schottenheim. This in turn is located in the Thuringian state capital near Erfurt. With its 310 meter long sandy beach, it is considered the longest lake in the entire region. Only very few visitors know that the lake with its average depth of about 7 meters is a former dredging lake , which was excavated for the construction of the A71highway. Today it is a popular sports and recreation lake where you can spend wonderful hours and days in the summer. But also as a hobby angler you are in good hands here because this lake is also known for its wonderful pike and carp population.

The gay scene from the entire state also appreciates this. They literally make a pilgrimage to Lake Stotternheim to enjoy the summer sun. That's why you'll usually find yourself at the nudist beach section. There it's see and be seen until eye contact is made. Because as soon as this is established, the real fun begins. For this, you usually retreat to the bushes on the shore, which are located to the west and offer numerous hiding places.

If you're ever in Düsseldorf, you should definitely visit the Klappe am Südfriedhof.
