Insult in the Bundestag: Christina Baum (AfD) calls Sven Lehmann a "completely crazy homosexual queer commissioner"

Things are getting heated again in the Bundestag. The focus is on anti-queer statements by the AfD. This time it hits the queer commissioner Sven Lehmann. In a post on Facebook, the deputy Christina Baum has no good word for him.

Among other things, her lengthy statement speaks of, for example, "ideological gender madness in its final stages."

At the same time, the party is said to be planning the introduction of a "homo propaganda" ban. The fronts have hardened and there is heated discussion in the social networks.

How did the contribution come about?

The opening of the Facebook post already quickly suggests who the text is directed against. With insults and queer-hostile statements, the member of the Bundestag from Baden-Württemberg tries to act against the LGBTQI+ community and gives free rein to her thoughts.
The actual basis for her post was the reaction of the queer representative Sven Lehmann to an open letter to the magazine "Emma". In the letter, the mother, of an already adult child, wrote among other things that she was against the planned self-determination law and that young people would be "extremely confused" by queer people.

Sven Lehmann classified the argumentation of the lady as "queer- and trans-hostile". In addition, he made clear that the statement "could also come from evangelical Christians and bourgeois fascists.
The first to take up Lehmann's statement and also take a stand were some authors of right-wing publications who claimed that Lehmann was insulting and putting down a "caring mother".

Sven Lehmann is a "huge danger" - according to Christina Baum

In her post, Christina Baum goes on to call queer advocate Sven Lehmann a "huge danger" for not standing up for mentally and physically healthy people, among other things.

It should be clear that this must mean cis-society. Exactly this implies again that queer people are neither physically nor psychologically healthy. A few lines later Baum writes: "What this person (Sven Lehmann) is apparently not aware of is that gender cannot be changed, the victims are merely sterilized and mutilated."

And as if these accusations were not enough, the AfD deputy also takes explicit action against homosexuals. In her opinion, they should not be allowed to raise children, and demands for adoption by homosexuals should be rejected instead.

AfD demands "homo propaganda" ban

Currently, the AfD is once again trying to curtail the rights of gay people. Not only does it want to deny them the right to marriage and adoption, but it also apparently plans to "protect" children and youth from queer people and content. Similar to the mother in the open letter (see above), many party members also think that children and youth would be confused by queer people.

The corresponding statements are also somewhat reminiscent of the "Don't Say Gay" laws in the USA and the discrimination against queers that is currently taking place in many Eastern European countries.

The queer commissioner seems to be a thorn in the side of the AfD

From the beginning, the AfD reacted very sensitively to the fact that there was now to be a queer representative in the German Bundestag in the form of Sven Lehmann. Other politicians, for example some members of the CDU, also reacted skeptically.
At the time, Beatrix von Storch, among others, also declared after his appointment that they wanted to take action against Lehmann's plans. So far, the AfD has stuck to this promise. Fortunately, however, Lehmann is apparently not intimidated by this.
