Gay kiss in horror series "Chucky"

The horror-comedy series "Chucky", which revolves around the well-known murder doll, is very popular in the USA and elsewhere. Now a murmur must have gone through the rows of viewers in the living rooms. Because: there was queer smooching in the series. To be precise, Jake and Devon have kissed.

Both of them seem to have been overcome by their emotions when they apparently managed to render harmless probably the most famous murder doll of the film landscape.

It's not new that horror movies and TV series feature smooching. Many films (some of them even with a rating of 18) are even based to a large extent on love stories, which are then abruptly interrupted because "murderer XY" thinks he has to disturb the happiness.

Nevertheless, the kiss between Jake and Devon seems to be something special. This kind of affection is celebrated on social networks, among others. Many younger fans in particular comment with hearts and the like and find the scene "cute. As usual, there are also one or two negative comments. However, most viewers apparently wouldn't mind if Jake and Devon's story were told on this level as well.

Connoisseurs of the genre also know that the fight against the murder doll is definitely not over yet. It would not be the first time that Chucky would be interpreted as "dead" or "harmless" and now "lives on" after all.

At least if they have booked Syfy. Since mid-October - just in time for Halloween - the series has been airing in the U.S. on Syfy and USA Network. According to current reports, this will also be the case here in Germany from next January. Then it will only take a few episodes until the queer "we-have-defeated-the-doll"-kiss could also write a piece of TV history here.

And by the way: the fact that small details, such as a gay kiss, are now incorporated into the plot around the doll is no coincidence. Don Manchini, who is behind the stories around the doll, has long come out. There have also been queer allusions again and again in the films. Accordingly, it can be assumed that the kiss between the two teenagers will not be the only allusion to the community. So "Chucky" remains exciting in every respect.
