What is "Take me out" about?

"Take me out" deals with the very questions that occupied people at the time of its creation, but also to this day. Among other things, it is about what is considered "masculine" in society and about exclusion. Dealing with racism plays just as important a role here as the fight against homophobia.

The incredible success story of "Take me out" to this day proves how important the topic was considered even back then. The play even made it to Broadway, among other places. According to media reports, this is set to happen again. Already in the coming year it could be so far. Jesse Williams is also supposed to be involved here.

"Take me out" as a series - other well-known TV faces also in the game

Jesse Williams isn't the only familiar face that could reportedly be signed on for the TV series to "Take Me Out."

Among others, Patrick J. Adams (known from "Suits") and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (from "Modern Family") are also reportedly part of the cast. The prerequisites for high ratings are therefore not bad. In addition, the high profile of the two actors underscores the fact that the message of the play or series is obviously considered important enough by many to launch a project here.

Another look at the details

The people behind the series have decided to set "Take me out" in the locker room of a baseball team. Darren, a successful player and African-American himself, struggles to come out of the closet. He quickly becomes the focus of various hostilities, both racist and homophobic. In particular, a dispute with a new player colleague quickly becomes a problem.

After a suspension, the player in question is allowed to play for his team again - even though Lemming strongly resists this. During a game, everything suddenly changes due to a tragedy.

Who is Jesse Williams, anyway?

The good-looking Jesse Williams with the bright eyes and the no less impressive smile became known to the TV community mainly through his role in "Grey's Anatomy". Here he played Dr. Avery.

Even after his exit after several seasons, Williams was by no means bored. He took on new roles again and again - both on TV and in the theater. He also showed his skills behind the camera and worked as a producer, among other things. "Take me out," both as a series and as a play, now represents another new challenge in the life of the father of two.

How important it is for Williams not "just"toact, but also to convey a message with his works, became apparent about five years ago. Here he documented the "BLM" movement in an impressive way and thus sensitized many people to this important issue. He himself also has African-American roots. He is da child of a Swedish mother and an African-American father. He is also involved in "The Advancement Project" as a board member. The organization's mission is to strengthen civil rights and address legal issues related to racism.
