Hello Dr. Randy,

My question may sound like it is being asked by a young man. But in fact I am already 46 years old and only a few weeks ago I became clear about my homosexuality.

I came out to my parents (both well over 70!) and to my circle of friends and was pleasantly surprised. Absolutely no one was shocked or anything like that. Maybe one or the other has already suspected that I am gay.

Anyway, now I have the problem that I would incredibly like to meet other gay men. Whether I want to have a permanent relationship, I do not know just yet. Maybe I'm just looking for a casual atmosphere? Anyway: where can I meet gay men? Since I live in the country, the whole thing is a bit more difficult than in the big city - at least I think so.

I'm very happy that your coming out obviously went so smoothly. Great! That you are now wondering if you can meet other gay men is understandable. After all, you are now at peace with yourself and want to enjoy your life (and certainly your sexuality) to the fullest. In fact, the fact that you live in a rather rural area complicates things a bit - but really only "a bit".

The Internet can usually help you in your search for gay men. Maybe there are other gays living in your town who - for various reasons - don't dare to admit their feelings?

Therefore, it is almost always worthwhile to look around in the Planet Randy chat. This way you can quickly get into conversation with others - often also with men from your region.
