Lady Gaga celebrates the 10th birthday of "Born This Way" and receives the key of L.A. for it.

Hard to believe, but about exactly ten years ago, on May 23, 2011, the album "Born This Way" by pop star Lady Gaga was released.

This anniversary was celebrated in Los Angeles with a special ceremony. The 35-year-old LGBTQ icon did not miss the opportunity to appear in person.

10 years "Born This Way

The Community Celebrates "Born This Way"

Los Angeles is one of the most liberal cities in America. Many people who live here are queer. In the region, they have the opportunity to stand by themselves as freely as possible. This is due in no small part to the commitment of many people, such as Lady Gaga.

To celebrate the album anniversary, like words "Born This Way" were written on the street in rainbow colors. This is neither a coincidence nor the expression of their own musical taste. Lady Gaga is strongly committed to LGBTQ rights and demands acceptance and respect for all people - regardless of what sexuality they belong.

Behind the lettering you can see the famous gay bar "The Abbey", which celebrated its 30th anniversary at the same time. A double reason for joy for the scene!

The highlight of the festivities was finally when Lady Gaga was presented with a "Key to the City".

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" as a call?!

"No matter gay, straight, or bi/ Lesbian, transgendered life/ I'm on the right track baby/ I was born to survive,"... Just this short excerpt from the song "Born This Way" clearly shows how much Lady Gaga stands up for the LGBTQ community.

But not only queers love the songs on the album, also many young people who do not belong to the scene have integrated the work on their playlist.

Most of the songs on "Born this way" are about one's identity, mutual acceptance and a direct and indirect demand for more rights for the LGBTQ community.

Accordingly, Lady Gaga's work - and especially the album - can be seen as an important statement at a time when, unfortunately, intolerance towards the scene still dominates in many parts of the world.

Lady Gaga and the LGBTQ community - an impressive connection

The album is not the first commitment of Lady Gaga when it comes to supporting her beloved community. In the past, there were many examples in which the artist was on the road as an activist.

Unforgotten: Her outfit of raw meat caused an international sensation. In this way, she wanted to draw attention to the anti-LGBTQ US military policy. Many people were shocked by the icon - but also fascinated and wanted to learn more about her motives.

It was certainly particularly courageous that she continued her tour of Russia, although she was threatened with heavy fines and arrest. She was not impressed by all this and continued to fill concert halls. The Russian authorities accused her of carrying out LGBTQ propaganda. Somehow, though, it almost seemed that this was exactly what gave her even more incentive to keep going.

"Moving on?" A good keyword! Even after "Born this way" it was by no means quiet around Lady Gaga. On the contrary! One hit chased the other. Accordingly, not only the queer community should already be excited about the next hits of the cult icon.

Did you know. Even LEGO is finally standing up for LGBTQ.
