Rarely has there been so much fuss about a Pride motto. After many people complained about "trans*normal - Mensch bleibt Mensch", those responsible decided to row back. However, this does not mean that the focus of Zurich Pride would change. On the contrary! The event, which - as usual - is to extend over several days, is to continue to focus on transsexuality. However, the slogan has been changed.

One of the main demands of this year's Zurich Pride: more equality and tolerance for trans people.

The new motto of Zurich Pride is set

Entire community to be strengthened

At the moment, the signs in connection with the Swiss community are increasingly in the direction of more equal rights. Only recently, the Swiss population voted that nothing stands in the way of marriage for all in the country. Now the focus is, among other things, on making transsexuality more visible. And that's exactly what the slogan "trans - living diversity" now aims to do.

In this way, the goal of bringing the diversity of the community to the outside world is further supported. Within the framework of individual events, various demands of trans people will be pointed out at this year's Zurich Pride.

So it could well be that the scene once again moves a little closer together and fights united for the rights of trans people. In the past, there has been repeated criticism that the community is threatening to break apart in some places. If now all queers run together under the motto trans - diversity live and celebrate the CSD, accordingly a special sign would be sent into the world.

Can Zurich Pride take place in 2022?

This is a question that organizers in other cities are also currently asking themselves. After all, the last two years have shown that events that "normally" involve thousands of people are difficult to plan.

However, a look at the page of those responsible is quite positive. According to the current status, Zurich Pride Week will take place from June 6 to 19, 2022. As always, one of the highlights is likely to be the parade through the city. This is planned for June 18 and will lead through the city center.

The festival, which will take place on June 17 and 18, will be particularly colorful. On the last day there will be a church service.

Interactive offers around Zurich Pride

Those who followed the Prides during the Corona Pandemic know that a lot of information was offered online. Currently, the organizers seem to be in a positive mood. It is planned to let the event take place - of course under the observance of the conditions.

Those who would like to get in the mood a little beforehand have the opportunity to listen to the Zurich Pride Podcast, among other things. Here, members of the scene tell their story and talk, among other things, about coming out and their respective chosen lifestyles.

If you want to become a part of the podcast yourself, just fill out the casting form.

Prides 2022 - what is the current status?

The organizers of Zurich Pride are apparently not the only ones who are optimistic about the implementation of the event. In Germany, too, there are many people in charge who are already planning the parades and demonstrations for the summer. For example, Pride Berlin is to take place this year on July 23. Here, the focus this time is to be placed increasingly on the protection of mental health. Other, relevant events, such as the lesbian-gay city festival(on July 16 and 17, 2022) are also planned. In short: the "queer events calendar" 2022 is full. Let's hope that as many events as possible can take place to increase the visibility of the community once again and to draw attention to demands and goals.
