Hape Kerkeling releases a new song from his new album "Mal unter uns..." (Just between us).

As quiet as it had become around Hape Kerkeling in recent years, he is now back with a vengeance. A role in Michael Bully Herbig's film "Der Boandlkramer und die ewige Liebe," a new TV show in the starting blocks and his voice-over career (including "Olaf" in "Die Eiskönigin") are now being supplemented by another highlight. Because: Hape Kerkeling sings. In fact, he sings so much that he will soon be releasing a very personal album.

This listens to the title "Mal unter uns..."and makes among other things already curious because now the song "Ich leb den Traum" was coupled out.

However, it will still take a little while until the complete work can finally be listened to. Because: said album is to be released only on October 22, 2021.

What's behind "Just between us..."?

"Mal unter uns..."Is a compilation of a total of 14 songs originally from the Netherlands. About three decades are covered over the playlist. The songs were gradually translated into German and thus re-recorded for Hape's album.

By the way, "Ich leb den Traum" is not the only song that was released before the release date and thus saw the "light ofday" in themusic world. At the beginning of September, Kerkeling's fans were also able to hear a musical sample with "Der Weg nach Haus.

By the way, the songs that finally managed to get a place on the record were not chosen at random. Instead, the songs are said to be the artist's personal favorites.

Perhaps this also explains why "Mal unter uns..."is described as "personal". After all, it takes a lot of courage to open one's soul (and personal taste) a bit in this way. From a musical and artistic point of view, it remains to be seen how originally Dutch songs sound in German and how it has (hopefully) succeeded in bringing the whole thing together in a harmonious way.

How will "Mal unter uns..." by Hape Kerkeling sound?

Even though there are now two samples of Kerkeling's album, it remains difficult to assess what the overall package will ultimately look like. Especially due to the fact that it is emphasized again and again that "Mal unter uns..."is such a personal album, it always floats along how multifaceted Hape is.

Accordingly, it would certainly be wrong to see in the album a kind of "comedy sampler" with exclusively whimsical ditties. Anyone who has dealt with Hape's career knows that someone here can also be quite profound.

The thoroughbred entertainer definitely does not have to complain about a lack of success at the moment. His book "Pfoten vom Tisch!", in which he writes about his relationship with cats - some of which is very personal, by the way - has been very well received.

It almost seems as if Hape didn't really take the time off he allowed himself. Even during his first TV appearances, it was clear that a great man was back. In this context, many of his fans also keep emphasizing that he is apparently becoming more active again because he can and not because he has to.

Therefore, it is not difficult to believe that "Mal unter uns..."is not a record that was put together in a few hours, but rather a lot of time. On October 22, 2021, the time has come. The die-hard fans should have already marked the date in red on their calendars... And until then they will be puzzling over how emotional, funny and profound the new disc will be. For many, however, it is already clear: "Ich leb den Traum" is great for partying, while "Der Weg nach Haus" is much more thoughtful. Thus, much points to a broad spectrum.
